Unai Emery makes decision about Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal future – report
Unai Emery wants Arsenal to tie Aaron Ramsey down to a new contract, according to reports
Unai Emery wants Arsenal to tie Aaron Ramsey down to a new contract this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the north London side are keen to keep hold of the Wales international midfielder, who was one of the Gunners’ standout performers in the second half of last season.
Ramsey’s future has been a source of speculation, with the midfielder’s current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
According to the same story, Ramsey is a “focal point” of the team Emery wants to build at Arsenal, and the new Gunners boss is keen for the north London side to secure his future.
The same story says that Ramsey has responded well to Emery’s plans and is willing to sign a new deal with Arsenal and commit his future to the north London club.
It is also claimed in the same report that Emery is prepared to give the green light for Arsenal to hand Ramsey a significant pay rise on his current deal, which is worth around £100,000 a week.
Emery was appointed as Arsenal’s new manager last month after Arsene Wenger chose to stand down at the end of the season after nearly 22 years in charge.
