Arsenal in concrete talks to sign 22-year-old, claims agent
Caglar Soyuncu's agent has claimed that Arsenal are keen on signing the defender this summer
Caglar Soyuncu’s agent has claimed that Arsenal are in “concrete” talks to sign the defender this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to bring the 22-year-old Freiburg defender to The Emirates this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The Turkey international is widely regarded to be one of the finest young defenders in the Bundesliga and he has been earning plenty of praise for his performances in recent seasons.
Now, the player’s agent Mustafa Dogru has claimed that there are talks ongoing with Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat about a move to The Emirates for the young defender.
Dogru told Turkish Football: “Sven Mislintat has been keen on Caglar since he was at Borussia Dortmund.
“He first scouted him back in Germany. Sven is interested in Caglar, there are concrete talks, all that remains is for a fee to be agreed. We will see what happens next.”
Arsenal are preparing for their first season since Arsene Wenger’s decision to step down at the end of last term.
The north London side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term and missed out on a trophy to leave them facing another season without Champions League football.
Unai Emery has been selected as the man to help guide the north London club back to the top of English football.
