AS Roma could scupper Arsenal’s bid to sign 26-year-old – report
Arsenal could face competition for Bernd Leno from AS Roma this summer, say reports
Arsenal could be set to face competition from AS Roma for the signature of Bernd Leno this summer, according to reports in the British media.
talkSPORT is reporting that the Italian side could be set to make a swoop for the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper if Real Madrid end up signing Alisson from the Serie A club.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move to sign Leno in recent days as the Gunners look to bring in a long-term successor for Petr Cech at The Emirates.
Indeed, the same report says that Arsenal are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a £22m deal to sign the goalkeeper this summer.
However, it is now being claimed that AS Roma could be set to make a new bid to try and bring Leno to Italy should they end up selling Alisson this summer.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to try and build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The north London side missed out on Champions League qualification for the second season running in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge last term.
