Unai Emery told to make Emil Forsberg his first Arsenal signing
Arsenal are being urged to complete a deal to sign Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig by Anders Limpar
Arsenal have been urged to sign Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig this summer by Anders Limpar.
The north London side are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The Gunners endured something of a season to forget last season as they finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy.
Arsenal have appointed Unai Emery as the club’s new manager after Arsene Wenger opted to stand down at the end of the campaign.
Attentions will now inevitably turn towards the summer transfer window and the players Emery will look to bring in.
Sweden international Forsberg has been touted as a possible target for the north London club, and Limpar reckons that he would be a brilliant signing for the Gunners.
Limpar is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “If we get Emil Forsberg, we will be so lucky.
“He’s the biggest prospect we have in Europe. He has been really good in the Bundesliga and has been outstanding for the national side.
“If we get him, we would get a hell of a player who could produce points with assists and goals.
“Please God, we should sign him straight away – if we can.”
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
The north London side will have to make do with just Europa League football next season after they missed out on Champions League qualification for next term.
