Sky Sports reporter: Arsenal deal for third signing is imminent
Arsenal are on the brink of signing Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, according to reports
Arsenal are on the verge of concluding a deal to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 22-year-old Uruguay midfielder to The Emirates in recent weeks as Unai Emery looks to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
Arsenal confirmed their second signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring goalkeeper Bernd Leno to The Emirates from Bayer Leverkusen.
Torreira is now believed to be the next man on Arsenal’s hit-list, and Sky Sports reporter Sheth has now indicated that a deal for the Gunners’ third summer signing is close.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said: “Torreira looks like it is imminent.”
Arsenal are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The north London side finished in sixth place in the table last season in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge, and they have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2004.
