Arsenal set to offer 27-year-old new contract under Unai Emery – report
Arsenal are ready to give Aaron Ramsey a significant pay increase to secure his future for the next five seasons, according to a report in England
Arsenal are ready to hand Aaron Ramsey an improved contract to secure his long-term future, according to a report in England.
The Times, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners wants to sort out the Wales international’s future with less than 12 months to run on his current deal.
Arsenal appointed Unai Emery as their new manager last month after Arsene Wenger stood down following 22 seasons in charge of the north London outfit.
The same article states that the Gunners are set to give Ramsey a significant pay increase in their proposed five-year contract to ensure his best years are spent at Arsenal.
According to the same story, Ramsey is open to remaining at the north London club following Emery’s appointment despite rejecting Arsenal’s previous contract offers.
The Welsh star scored seven goals and made eight assists in 24 appearances in the Premier League in the 2017-18 season.
Ramsey has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United given the Red Devils are looking to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
Arsenal sold Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal with Manchester United in the January transfer window to avoid losing the Chile international on a free transfer this summer.
