Arsenal boost in bid to sign 22-year-old from CSKA Moscow – report
CSKA Moscow could be ready to sell Arsenal target Aleksandr Golovin this summer, say reports
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, as quoted by Calciomercato, is reporting that CSKA Moscow could be prepared to sell the 22-year-old this summer.
According to the same story, the Russian side would want a transfer fee of at least €25m to sell Golovin this summer, and that has given Arsenal encouragement that they may be able to complete a deal to sign the talented youngster ahead of next season.
According to the same article, both Arsenal and Serie A champions Juventus are monitoring Golovin’s situation this summer.
The Russia international was in solid form for CSKA Moscow this season, scoring seven goals and making six assists for the Russian side.
He is expected to be a key player for his national team at this summer’s World Cup, and that could make €25m look like a bargain.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for a number of key signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
Unai Emery will be the new man in charge after Arsene Wenger stood down at the end of last season.
