Bernd Leno has taken to social media to express his excitement at signing for Arsenal this week.

The German goalkeeper has become the Gunners’ second signing of the summer transfer window after having been heavily linked with a move from Bayer Leverkusen in recent days.

The 26-year-old will be hoping to establish himself as the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal in the coming seasons as he bids to hold down a regular spot in the first team.

Leno becomes Unai Emery’s second signing at Arsenal after the Spaniard was appointed as the club’s new manager last month.

And the German goalkeeper was clearly delighted to see his transfer to the north London club go through as he posted an update on Instagram for his followers.

Leno posted the picture above on the app and wrote the caption: “Happy and proud to play for this great club in the future!

“I’ll do my best and I‘m looking forward to the start of the new season as a gunner. 💪🏽😉👌🏼 @arsenal.”

Arsenal will be aiming to at least try and break back into the top four next season after they finished in sixth place and without a trophy last term.

The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign at Highbury.

Arsene Wenger opted to step down as Arsenal boss at the end of the season after almost 22 years at the club.
