Arsenal could sign Ever Banega in a £10m deal after Sevilla slashed the Argentina international’s asking price, according to a report.
Italian media outlet Corriere del Calcio, as reported by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Sevilla want to recoup just €12m (£10m) for the experienced Argentina international in the summer transfer window.
The La Liga side’s modest demands certainly fit into Arsenal’s transfer policy this summer after new manager Unai Emery was handed a limited budget of £50m.
The Gunners have already spent around £20m on Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, while experienced Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner moved on a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.
The same article states that Emery wants Arsenal to sign another midfielder in addition to Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira after Jack Wilshere confirmed that he will leave the north London side this summer.
The Uruguay international is though to be closing in on a move to Arsenal in a £30m deal in the current transfer market following a couple of weeks of intense speculation surrounding the 23-year-old.
Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on Champions League football for the second successive season.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04.
