Insider warns Arsenal will have to pay £35m for 26-year-old Ligue 1 star
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth warns Arsenal that Jean Seri will cost £35m in the summer transfer window
Arsenal will have to pay £35m if they want to sign Jean Seri from Nice this summer, according to reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Ivory Coast international came close to a move to La Liga side FC Barcelona last summer but a deal failed to materialise.
Seri knuckled down at the Ligue 1 side and he scored two goals and made five assists in 31 appearances in the French top flight.
The 26-year-old is attracting interest from the Premier League amid talk of Arsenal and Chelsea FC making a swoop for Seri.
The Gunners are in the market to sign a central midfielder to improve Unai Emery’s team following the Spaniard’s appointment.
Chelsea FC are also looking to improve their midfield options following a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League table.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Seri will cost interested parties around £35m in the current transfer window.
“He is very highly rated. He is a hot property,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“I am led to believe he has a £35m agreement with Nice to leave the club this summer.”
Arsenal finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive season.
The Gunners lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley.
