Arsenal are interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann, according to a report in Germany.
German media outlet Bild, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that new Arsenal manager Unai Emery is interested in a potential deal to sign 22-year-old full-back.
The same article states that Klostermann is viewed as a potential long-term replacement for World Cup winner Per Mertesacker, who announced his retirement this summer.
According to the same story, the RB Leipzig defender has a contract that is set to run until 2021 at the Bundesliga club.
Klostermann scored one goal in 39 appearances in all competitions last season as he racked up an impressive 3,106 minutes of first-team football.
The promising full-back won an Olympic Silver medal at the 2016 summer games in Rio with the German national team.
Arsenal have already signed experienced Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer in the summer window.
The Gunners finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive season.
