Insider names two candidates to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea FC
Ian McGarry delivers the latest update on Chelsea FC's apparent search for a new manager
Chelsea FC could move to replace Antonio Conte with either Tite or Jorge Sampaoli this summer, according to Ian McGarry.
The Blues are believed to be on the lookout for a new manager this summer as the speculation about Conte’s situation at the west London club continues.
Conte has been heavily linked with an exit from the west London club, with the Italian’s Chelsea FC side having finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season and missing out on Champions League qualification.
The Blues did manage to end the campaign on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May, but that hasn’t stopped talk of Conte leaving this summer.
Naturally, there have been a host of names linked with the vacant managerial job at Stamford Bridge this summer.
And football consultant McGarry has named two possible candidates to take over from Conte should he indeed quit Chelsea FC this summer.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, McGarry said: “Two names who are realistic are Tite, who has turned around Brazil’s World Cup campaign around from a shambolic start to a euphoric procession.
“Jorge Sampaoli of Argentina. He has been linked with many positions in the Premier League. He is eager to work in Europe. If either of those managers have a good World Cup, Abramovich could take a gamble.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge of the west London club, but they struggled to produce consistent form last term as they ended up fifth in the table.
