Sky Sports reporter reveals leading candidate to be new Chelsea FC manager
Dharmesh Sheth says Maurizio Sarri will be the leading candidate to take over at Chelsea FC this summer if Antonio Conte leaves
Maurizio Sarri will be the leading candidate to take over at Chelsea FC this summer if Antonio Conte leaves the club, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
Conte’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months due to the Blues’ stuttering form in the Premier League.
Chelsea FC ended up slumping to a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League table as they missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.
There have been constant rumours at Chelsea FC suggesting that Conte is not happy with his situation at Stamford Bridge, with the Italian having been widely tipped to leave the club after two years in charge.
Conte did managed to help Chelsea FC end the season on a positive note when they beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final to win his second major trophy in England.
Napoli boss Sarri has been strongly touted as one of the favourites to take over from Conte should he leave the club this summer.
And Sky Sports News reporter Sheth has now revealed that Sarri would be the man to replace Conte should he indeed leave Chelsea FC this summer.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Centre podcast, Sheth said: “If Conte goes, Sarri would be the favourite to take over.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign at the club.
