Eden Hazard opens up about leaving Chelsea FC for Real Madrid
Eden Hazard hints that he would be keen on a move to Real Madrid from Chelsea FC this summer
Eden Hazard has admitted that he would be interested in a move to Real Madrid from Chelsea FC this summer.
The Belgian playmaker’s future has been a constant source of speculation in recent years, with the 27-year-old having been heavily linked with a possible move away from Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid has often been touted as a possible destination for the attacking midfielder, with the Spanish giants presumably on the lookout for some significant reinforcements ahead of next season.
Now, Hazard has admitted that would be interested in a transfer to the Bernabeu as long as the project suited him.
Hazard, who joined from Lille five years ago, is quoted as saying by the Sun: “As everybody knows, Real Madrid could interest me. But if tomorrow they don’t want me, I won’t talk about them any more.
“If they want to buy me they know what they have to do.
“I wouldn’t join them just for the sake of it. I need to have a project, and I still have one at Chelsea.
“If I have a good World Cup then things will be easier.”
Chelsea FC will have to settle for Europa League football next season after the Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term.
However, the Blues did manage to end last season on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final thanks to Hazard’s winning goal at Wembley.
It remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte will remain in charge at Stamford Bridge for next season or if the Blues will bring in a new manager this summer.
