Frank Lampard is convinced that England have what it takes to win the World Cup in Russia this summer.

The Three Lions made it two wins from their opening two group games in Russia with a 6-1 thrashing over Panama in their second game of the tournament on Sunday.

Harry Kane netted a hat-trick for the Three Lions as they underlined their solid form at this summer’s tournament, ahead of their crunch meeting with Belgium on Thursday evening.

John Stones scored twice, and Jesse Lingard also found the net as Gareth Southgate’s men produced an impressive display to destroy Panama at the weekend.

Now, Chelsea FC legend Lampard feels that England have got what it takes to go all the way and win the World Cup this summer in Russia.

The former midfielder is convinced that the Three Lions have the talent at their disposal to win the tournament.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Lampard said: “I think they can go all the way. I genuinely do

“I don’t see why we would be negative enough to just start going, ‘Oh, I hope we get to the quarter-finals’.

“I think the team have shown in their performances and this is not getting ahead of myself, just look at the talent in our squad and in the team and the way they’re playing and why should we write ourselves off?

“So yes, the players will focus game by game, day by day – that’s tournament football – that’s what they have to do.”

England will take on Belgium in their final group game on Thursday evening, in a match which will decide who finishes top of the group.

The Three Lions have not won the World Cup since their famous 1966 triumph on home sold.
