French newspaper Sud-Ouest, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues have opened discussions with the Brazilian’s representatives to sound out the possibility of a transfer to the west London club.
The 21-year-old Brazilian has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and he was touted as a target for both Liverpool FC and Arsenal in the January transfer window, but a switch failed to materialise.
He scored 12 goals and made seven assists in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Bordeaux last season after an impressive campaign for the French side.
According to the same story, Malcom’s agent Fernando Garcia has been pushing for a move away for his client and he met with Chelsea FC bosses in London recently.
The same article says that Bordeaux are likely to demand a transfer fee of around €50m (£44m) for the young attacker this summer.
Chelsea FC are yet to make any new signings this summer as they look to try and challenge for the Premier League title next season.
The west London side missed out on Champions League qualification for next season after they finished fifth in the top flight last term.
