Reported Chelsea FC and Man United target replies to transfer talk
Jordi Alba insists that he is happy at FC Barcelona despite the speculation linking him with the likes of Man United and Chelsea FC
Jordi Alba has moved to play down the speculation linking him with a move away from FC Barcelona to the Premier League this summer.
The FC Barcelona man has been touted as a target for the likes of Chelsea FC, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in recent days as his future at Camp Nou appears to be up in the air.
It remains to be seen whether the apparent interest in brining Alba to England from the top Premier League clubs is anything but newspaper speculation at this stage.
However, the player himself has insisted that he would remain at FC Barcelona for the rest of his career if it ended up being down to him.
Alba is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: “I’m very happy at Barca. If it depended on me, I would stay at Barcelona my whole life.
“But it doesn’t depend only on me, it’s also what the club wants. It also depends on my performances, which this season have been very good, but I don’t see myself away from Barca.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are yet to make any new signings this summer after the disappointment of their fifth placed finish in the Premier League last term.
Manchester United have been somewhat busier, with the Red Devils having brought in both Diogo Dalot and Fred so far this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season following their second placed finish last term.
