Maurizio Sarri’s agents in London to finalise Chelsea FC move – report
Maurizio Sarri looks set to be appointed as Chelsea FC's new manager, say reports
Maurizio Sarri’s agents have arrived in London to finalise his proposed move to take over as Chelsea FC manager, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Italian manager’s representatives have touched down in the capital to complete a deal for him to take over from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Conte’s future at the club has been a relentless source of speculation all summer due to the Blues’ disappointing fifth placed finish last season, and it now appears that Sarri will be the man to take over at Stamford Bridge.
The same report says that Chelsea FC refused to comment on reports that they are set to pay £4.4m to release Sarri from Napoli.
It is also claimed in the same story that Chelsea FC legend Gianfranco Zola is poised to take up a role as Sarri’s assistant boss at Stamford Bridge for next season.
Chelsea FC will be looking to at least break back into the top four next season after the Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season and missed out on Champions League qualification.
However, the Blues did manage to end the season on a high by winning the FA Cup.
