The Blues have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Napoli boss to Stamford Bridge this summer as they seek a replacement for Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
Widespread reports in the media last week suggested that Chelsea FC were close to appointing the Italian manager as their new boss as they look to replace Conte at the west London club.
Sarri is widely thought to be the front-runner to take over from Conte but there has not yet been any official word from Chelsea FC about the future management of the club.
Now, Napoli president has issued something of a surprise update by claiming that the Blues have not yet made any approach to bring Sarri in as their new boss.
As quoted by Metro, De Laurentiis told Sky Sport 24 in Italy: “The call from London has not arrived.”
And when asked if he thinks Sarri will end up at Chelsea, De Laurentiis replied: “I do not know. Time will tell.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Blues ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
