Chelsea FC are set to appoint Luis Enrique as their new manager next week, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish publication Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues have turned their attentions towards the former FC Barcelona boss after ending their interest in Maurizio Sarri.
Enrique had been touted as a target for Arsenal this summer before the Gunners appointed Unai Emery last month.
The same report says that Chelsea FC have quickly turned their attentions towards appointing Enrique as their new manager.
Enrique has been on a sabbatical after having left his post as FC Barcelona manager at the end of last season.
Chelsea FC are widely expected to appoint a new manager this summer as Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge continues to be a source of speculation.
The Blues endured a disappointing campaign in the Premier League as they ended up in fifth place and missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The west London side did manage to end the campaign on a positive note, however, as they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
