Pedro Rodriguez has insisted that he is happy to stay at Chelsea FC beyond the summer.

The Spain international has been earning praise for his strong displays for the west London side since signing for the Blues in the summer of 2015 from FC Barcelona.

He played a key role in helping Chelsea FC to win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge back in 2016-17, and he also helped the Blues to win the FA Cup last term.

Pedro has been linked with a move away from Chelsea FC but the player himself has now insisted that he is happy to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his first-team place.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Cadena Ser, Pedro said: “Obviously I have a contract at Chelsea and most likely I will stay. I’m good here.

“I’m very comfortable with my team-mates and, in football terms I’m very happy for having won the Premier League and the FA Cup in three years. I’m happy because it’s always difficult to win trophies in England.

“I’m enjoying my holidays right now, getting some rest and spending time with family, and then start the new season in the best way.”

Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.

The west London side ended up in a disappointing fifth place in the the Premier League table last term as they missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League, before beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
