Rio Ferdinand: Chelsea FC star is a nightmare to play against
Rio Ferdinand admits that he is a huge admirer of Eden Hazard at Chelsea FC
Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he is a huge admirer of Eden Hazard at Chelsea FC and says he is a “nightmare” to defend against.
The Belgian forward is widely regarded to be one of European football’s top attacking talents and he has been earning lots of praise for his performances for the Blues since his move to Stamford Bridge from Lille back in 2012.
Hazard has helped to fire Chelsea FC to two Premier League titles since his move to the west London club and he was voted as the PFA player of the year back in 2015.
The 27-year-old also proved the difference for Chelsea FC as the Blues claimed a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
There have been some questions raised about whether Hazard has been truly fulfilling his potential at Chelsea FC or not.
However, Manchester United legend Ferdinand is clearly a keen admirer of the Belgium international.
Speaking to BT Sport, Ferdinand said: “If you add goals to what he does, there’s not many players on the planet who can live with him.
“He is a nightmare to defend against. He’s so small and so strong. He has a great turn of pace, but he doesn’t seem obsessed enough with scoring.”
Hazard’s future is likely to be a source of speculation this summer after Chelsea FC missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League following their fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
