Spanish newspaper AS, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Real Madrid will look to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer as they look to bolster their squad.
The same report says that signing Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea is looking unlikely for the Spanish giants and so they will look elsewhere to reinforce their options between the posts.
According to the same story, Real Madrid have narrowed their goalkeeper targets down to just two – Courtois and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.
The report now says that both players are “waiting for the call” from Real Madrid as they look to resolve their futures in the coming weeks and months.
Courtois’ future has been a source of speculation recently, with the Belgian’s current contract set to expire at the end of next season.
The fact that the Belgium international’s contract is due to expire next summer could prompt Chelsea FC to look to cash-in this summer rather than risk losing the goalkeeper on a free transfer in 12 months’ time.
