Sky Sports reporter gives update on 25-year-old’s Chelsea FC future
Thibaut Courtois could be on his way to Real Madrid this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol
Thibaut Courtois could well be on his way out of Chelsea FC and to Real Madrid in the near future, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Belgian goalkeeper’s future has been something of a source of speculation recently because his current contract is set to expire at the end of next season and he is yet to pen a new deal with the west London club.
Courtois has been touted as a possible target for Real Madrid recently, given that his two children live in the Spanish capital.
Chelsea FC missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League as they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season, but they did manage to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final to end the campaign with a trophy.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Courtois, but Sky Sports reporter Solhekol has revealed that a summer move to Real Madrid or staying put at Chelsea FC are both on the cards for the shot-stopper.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Solhekol said: “He could be someone going to Real Madrid. His two children live in Madrid so that’s why he is constantly being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
“The latest we’ve heard is Courtois hasn’t ruled out staying at Chelsea. It isn’t done and dusted that he will definitely be leaving this summer.”
Chelsea FC are likely to be keen to make a number of new signings this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
