The 29-year-old found his playing time under Antonio Conte last season to be significantly restricted despite his reputation as one of the Blues’ top attacking players.
Indeed, Willian only started 20 of Chelsea FC’s 38 Premier League games last season and his lack of playing time has inevitably prompted speculation that he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer.
Willian has long been linked with a move away from west London and he was touted as a target for Manchester United both last summer and in January.
And the playmaker is likely to seek a move away from Chelsea FC this summer unless something changes about his situation at the west London club, according to reporter Vickery.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Centre podcast, Vickery said: “He is desperate to make an impression. He wants to make statement to the club manager.
“Unless there are changes at Chelsea, you can certainly see him moving on.”
Chelsea FC are yet to make their first signing of the summer transfer window, with the Blues having finished in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The west London side did manage to end the campaign on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
