Insider claims Chelsea FC want 22-year-old if Willian moves to Man United
Chelsea FC have earmarked Middlesbrough star Adama Traore as a replacement for Willian, according to Duncan Castles
Chelsea FC will look to sign Adama Traore if Willian moves to Manchester United this summer, Duncan Castles has claimed.
The Brazil international is facing an uncertain future at the west London side after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.
Willian was a late substitute in Chelsea FC’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last season.
The South American took to Instagram to have a subtle dig at his Italian head coach following their cup triumph.
Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in a potential swoop to sign Willian from the 2017 Premier League champions.
Traore has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain over the past week or so following an impressive seasons at Middlesbrough.
Sunday Times reporter Castles suggested that Chelsea FC could raid the Championship club in the summer.
“Chelsea are interested in Traore,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“They see him as a potential signing if they have to sell Hazard or Willian. He is certainly not an upgrade on those two.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final thanks to Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot.
