Chelsea FC are set to pursue Russia star Aleksandr Golovin once Maurizio Sarri is appointed as the new Blues manager, according to a report.
The Evening Standard, as quoted by theDaily Express, is reporting that the Blues are interested in a deal to sign CSKA Moscow attacker in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Chelsea FC will launch a bid to sign Goloven once Sarri has taken over the reins of the west London side.
According to the same story, the Blues will face competition from Serie A champions Juventus and Premier League derby rivals Arsenal this summer.
Golovin announced himself on the world stage with a goal and two assists in Russia’s 5-2 win against Saudi Arabia in their World Cup opener.
The 22-year-old featured against both Arsenal and Manchester United in the Europa League last term to attract interest from the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term after the Blues missed out on a Champions League spot for the second time in three seasons.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.
