The Juventus defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer amid reported interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Rugani has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Juventus team despite producing some promising responses.
Chelsea FC are looking to improve their squad in the summer transfer window following a disappointing fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last term.
The Blues will presumably be looking to secure improve their defensive options in the summer transfer window given their well-documented struggles last season.
Rugani has scored five goals in 67 appearances over the past three campaigns following his move to Juventus from Empoli back in 2015.
The Juventus star’s agent has shed light on his current situation amid talk of an imminent move to Chelsea FC.
“I know that nobody will believe me, but I met with Paratici because it was already scheduled,” Rugani is quoted as saying by Football.London.
“I didn’t know there was going to be this storm the day before. We talked about how to improve the player and what to do going forward, but we didn’t set up any negotiations.
“We can’t say for sure in life that the player is off the market completely, but we can confirm no formal offers have arrived.
“He is happy to be there and Juve are happy with him. It was purely a coincidence we had this meeting after those reports. I can assure you we did not talk about Chelsea.”
Rugani began his footballer career with Empoli before Juventus purchased the defender in a co-ownership deal with the Italian club.
He scored five times in 81 games in two seasons at Empoli before Juventus paid an additional €1.5m to fully purcahse Rugani.
He has made seven appearances for the Italian national team since making his debut in 2016.
