Chelsea FC are looking to sign AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas this summer, according to reports
Chelsea FC have opened talks to sign AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas in a £33m deal, according to reports in Italy.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Blues are keen to tie up a deal for the Greek defender as they bid to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The same report says that the 27-year-old has been on Chelsea FC’s radar for some time and he could end up signing for the west London side finally this summer.
The story claims that the Blues have already opened talks with the defender’s representatives about a transfer to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings despite the uncertainty about Antonio Conte’s future at the club.
The Italian is widely expected to leave the club after two seasons in charge, but there is yet to be any official announcement about his future.
The Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and won the FA Cup thanks to Eden Hazard’s winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the final.
