Luis Enrique wants €15m a season to become the new Chelsea FC manager, according to Ian McGarry.
The current Blues head coach Antonio Conte is facing an uncertain future at the west London side following a disappointing 2017-18 Premier League season.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in the Italian manager’s first campaign in charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit.
However, the Blues limped to a fifth-placed finish last term to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
Chelsea FC did end the season on a positive note after the west London side were narrow 1-0 winners against bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
Ex-Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri is the favourite to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge, although former FC Barcelona boss Enrique is thought to be another contender.
Transfer Window journalist McGarry appeared to imply that the Spanish coach is pricing himself out of the Chelsea FC role.
“The obvious candidate to replace Conte is Enrique,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast. “He is demanding 15m euros net a season to replace Conte.”
Chelsea FC are still waiting to land their first summer signing despite Arsenal, Liverpool FC and Manchester United all making additions to their squad.
The Blues haven’t won the Champions League title since 2012.
