French media outfit l’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues are keeping tabs on N’Dombele with view to a potential summer deal.
The same article states that Tottenham entered into negotiations with Lyon’s no-nosense president Jean-Michel Aulas about a deal for N’Dombele.
However, Chelsea FC are ready to enter the race to sign the 21-year-old to replace Kante in the middle of the park for the 2018-19 campaign.
The France star is being linked with a potential move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Sant-Germain following Chelsea FC’s disappointing season.
Kante was one of the only positives in an otherwise forgettable season for Antonio Conte and his underperforming Chelsea FC squad.
The Blues midfielder won the PFA player of the year award in 2017 after he played a key role in their Premier League title success.
Kante won the Premier League title with Leicester City in 2015-16 to earn a £30m switch to Chelsea FC in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley after Eden Hazard’s decisive goal from the penalty spot.
