Maurizio Sarri wants to make Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino as his first Chelsea FC signing, according to a report in Italy.

Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Football Italia, is reporting that Sarri has already identified one of his top targets should he get the Chelsea FC role.

The 58-year-old has been heavily linked with Blues job given Antonio Conte’s time at the west London side appears to be coming to an end.

The same article states that Sarri is interested in a potential deal to sign the 26-year-old from Inter Milan in the current transfer window.

According to the same story, the Italian head coach is already ‘very excited’ about the prospect of signing the Uruguay international.

The versatile midfielder scored three goals in 29 appearances in all competitions during his first season at the San Siro outfit.

Vecino spent three seasons at Fiorentina before the Uruguayan midfielder moved to Inter in a €24m transfer.

The South American midfielder put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri.

Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
