The Reds have been strongly linked with a move to sign the Brazilian goalkeeper in recent months as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer as they bid to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
Their options between the posts have come under close scrutiny in recent months and Loris Karius’ nightmare performance in the Champions League final has only served to heighten the speculation.
Alisson has been strongly touted as a target for the Reds this summer, but Claudio Tafferel, currently goalkeeping coach to the national team, has insisted that the 25-year-old is happy at the Italian club as things stand.
Speaking to Italian radio station Tele Radio Stereo, Tafferel said: “Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours.
“I don’t know what will happen, but he said he’d be content to remain at Roma.”
Liverpool FC have already begun their summer spending by wrapping up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to Anfield last week.
The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League and lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid last season.
