The Daily Mirror is reporting that Jurgen Klopp wants to add more attacking depth to his Liverpool FC team to provide cover for Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
The same article states that Fekir would be a natural replacement for Philippe Coutinho after the Brazil international completed a £142m move to FC Barcelona in the January transfer window.
According to the same story, the France international has indicated that he will only move to Liverpool FC in the current transfer window to force Lyon’s hand.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, who has been reluctant to negotiate with the Reds, hasn’t named an exact price for the attacking midfielder.
Liverpool FC, though, are confident that an offer in the region of £50m will be enough to secure Fekir in the summer transfer window.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final following Salah’s injury in the first half in Kiev.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League title since 2005 when the Reds beat AC Milan on penalties.
