Liverpool FC to make Divock Origi decision ahead of next season – report
Divock Origi will report to Melwood for Liverpool FC pre-season training on Monday, say reports
Divock Origi will be given the chance to resurrect his Liverpool FC career in pre-season, according to reports in the British regional media.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Belgian striker will report for pre-season training with the Reds next month as he bids to prove himself to Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
According to the same report, Origi will return to Melwood on Monday to begin his pre-season preparations after a disappointing loan spell at German side Wolfsburg last season, where he netted just seven goals in 36 appearances.
The same article says that Klopp is keen to assess whether the 23-year-old could have a future at the Merseyside club ahead of next season, before making a final decision about his situation.
The story claims that Origi’s chances of shining in pre-season could be boosted by Roberto Firmino’s involvement in the World Cup with Brazil, meaning that the attacker will miss the first portion of the preparations for the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC have completed just one signing so far this summer after having landed Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco.
The Reds are thought to be on the lookout for a number of other signings this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
