Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is working hard in the gym ahead of his Liverpool FC return
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back working in the gym as the Liverpool FC star looks to make a full recovery from a knee problem.
The England international’s 2017-18 season was cut short when Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a serious knee injury in a 5-2 win against AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final back in April.
The versatile midfielder’s injury setback forced Oxlade-Chamberlain to sit out the Champions League final and miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed a successful first season at Liverpool FC following his £40m move to the Reds from Arsenal on transfer deadline day last summer.
The 24-year-old scored five times in 42 games in all competitions, including brilliant goals in a 4-3 Premier League win against Manchester City and a 3-0 victory over the Citizens in the Champions League semi-final.
And Oxlade-Chamberlain posted the above photo on his Instagram page of a session at the gym hours before his compatriots took to the field against Belgium.
Oxlade-Chamberlain wrote on Instagram: “Work mode 💪🏽”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
