Naby Keita is hoping that he can help Liverpool FC can go one step further next season following his move to Anfield.

The Guinea international was officially unveiled as a Reds player on Wednesday evening after Liverpool FC agreed to a £48m deal with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Keita, who will wear Steven Gerrard’s famous number eight shirt under German head coach Jurgen Klopp, will be hoping to add more quality to the Liverpool FC midfield.

The African box-to-box midfielder earned a big reputation in the Bundesliga after the former Red Bull Salzburg star helped Leipzig to qualify for the Champions League for the first time.

Keita scored 17 times in 71 games for the German club and the dynamic midfielder won the 2016-17 Bundesliga team of the season before he was named in the 2017-18 Europa League team of the campaign.

The new Liverpool FC signing has set out the Merseyside outfit’s targets for the upcoming season.

“When you see how they performed last season it makes me want to do the same and to be a part of this team,” Keita told Liverpool FC’s website.

“I would like to be able to achieve a similar kind of season with them next season – but even better.”

Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last month to end the campaign without silverware.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
