Reporter makes encouraging revelation about new Liverpool FC signing
Reporter David Maddock sheds light on Liverpool FC signing Naby Keita's impressive work rate
Naby Keita has already been working out at Melwood despite Liverpool FC’s pre-season training not due to start until 2 July, according to reporter David Maddock.
Liverpool FC officially unveiled Keita as their new signing on Wednesday evening after the Reds reached a £48m agreement with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last summer.
The Guinea international spent the 2017-18 season at the German club before he was able to complete his Liverpool FC move this month to start a new exciting chapter in his career.
Keita, who was team-mates with Liverpool FC winger Sadio Mane at Red Bull Salzburg, established himself as one of the top midfielders in the German top flight.
The 23-year-old was named in the 2016-17 Bundesliga team of the season and the 2017-18 Europa League team of the season to highlight his influential performances.
However, Keita isn’t resting on his laurels after the Liverpool FC star organised a training session with the Reds’ fitness coach following his official unveiling.
Maddock wrote on Twitter: “Anyone wondering what type of player @LFC have signed in Naby Keita, had confirmation that the training session at Melwood today with fitness coach Conall Murtagh was at his own request. He’s not due to start officially until July 2. #commitment”
The Guinea international will wear Steven Gerrard’s famous number eight shirt at Liverpool FC.
The Reds have also signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco earlier in the summer transfer window.
