Liverpool FC are keen on a deal to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports
Liverpool FC have “major interest” in signing Marco Asensio from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Asensio is very worried about his long-term future at Real Madrid due to his lack of playing time.
Asensio is part of Spain’s World Cup squad but he is yet to start for his national side in Russia.
The same story says that Liverpool FC are keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old’s situation as the Reds ponder making a move to try and bring the Spanish attacker to Anfield this summer.
The article claims that Liverpool FC have tabled a big opening bid to try and bring Asensio to Merseyside, and the player is now considering his options because of a fear of a lack of first-team opportunities next season.
According to the same story, the attacker will seek assurances from new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui over his role at the club after he returns from international duty at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are thought to be keen on a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
