Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Reds are still in with a shot of landing the 25-year-old goalkeeper despite Real Madrid believed to be leading the race for his signature.
Liverpool FC have been strongly linked with a move to sign Alisson for months, but Real Madrid were believed to have moved ahead of the Reds in the race to sign him this summer.
However, the same report now says that Alisson’s proposed transfer to the Bernabeu is not yet cut and dry, and so Liverpool FC still remain as a possible destination for the Brazil international.
Liverpool FC are thought to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer after Loris Karius’ nightmare in the Champions League final last month.
The Reds have already begun their summer recruitment drive by securing the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred from Monaco at the start of the window.
Liverpool FC will be looking to assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League title next term, after they ended up in fourth place and without a trophy last season.
