Reporter says Liverpool FC deal to sign top Brazilian now unlikely
David Maddock delivers the latest update on Liverpool FC's bid to sign Alisson from Roma this summer
Liverpool FC are now “highly unlikely” to sign Alisson Becker from AS Roma this summer, according to reporter David Maddock.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to bring the Brazilian goalkeeper to Anfield in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his options between the posts.
However, AS Roma’s high asking price for the Brazilian shot-stopper is believed to have been a sticking point and it now appears that the Reds will have to look elsewhere if they want to bolster their squad in that area.
Liverpool FC are thought to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer, and Daily Mirror reporter Maddock has now delivered the latest update on the Reds’ hunt for a shot-stopper.
Maddock wrote on Twitter: “Liverpool accept deal for Alisson highly unlikely – Jurgen Klopp not interested in paying Roma asking price and ready to reassess keeper recruitment plans.”
Liverpool FC finished fourth in the Premier League table and reached the Champions League final last term.
The Reds have already begun their summer spending by bringing in Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco at the start of the window.
The Merseyside outfit are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
