Liverpool FC have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Emil Forsberg after the Swede admitted he is ready for a move away from RB Leipzig.

The Reds have been linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old midfielder this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to try and strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

Forsberg has been in good form for RB Leipzig and has scored 21 goals and assisted 37 during his 112 games for the Bundesliga side.

However, Liverpool FC now appear to have been given a boost in their reported pursuit of the midfielder after he admitted that he is now ready for a move away from the German club.

Speaking in an interview with Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, Forsberg said: I’m ready for the next big step. That’s going to be very interesting.

“I am in dialogue with RB and always had a good relationship with the club.

“I have the dream of playing for the strongest clubs in the world.”

Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Klopp looks to assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

The Reds ended up in fourth place in the Premier League last season after reaching the Champions League final.

However, they are still searching for their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment back in the autumn of 2015.
