Emre Can sends a message to Liverpool FC fans after his transfer to Juventus is confimed
Emre Can has taken to social media to pay tribute to Liverpool FC fans after he finally completed his transfer to Juventus this week.
The German midfielder’s situation at Liverpool FC had been a constant source of speculation during the last few months as he approached the end of his contract at Anfield.
Can opted against signing a new deal with the Reds despite being offered the opportunity to stay at Anfield, and his move to Serie A side Juventus was finally confirmed on Thursday.
The 24-year-old midfielder is understood to have been paid a £14m signing-on fee by Juventus to complete the transfer to the Italian club.
And Can had a special message for Liverpool FC fans via a post on his personal Instagram account.
Can shared the video above, in which he said: “Hello, it’s Emre. Today is the first day of a new chapter in my life.
“I’d like to say thank you to all the people in Liverpool, to my coaches, to the staff, to the staff behind the staff, to the supporters, to everyone. I will always think back with a smile.
“One piece of my heart will always be in Liverpool. It was a big, big honour for me to play for Liverpool. I hope to see you one day again. Take care, your Emre.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are set to welcome both Fabinho and Naby Keita to their squad on 1 July.
The Reds are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next term.
Liverpool FC finished fourth and reached the Champions League final under Jurgen Klopp last season.
