The midfielder’s situation at Anfield has been a constant source of speculation in recent months, with his current Liverpool FC contract set to expire at the end of the month.
Can has been free to hold talks with foreign clubs since January and it is now expected that he will end up signing for Italian side Juventus this summer.
Now, Sky Sport Italia reporter Pensante has claimed that the 24-year-old German midfielder is on the brink of penning a deal with Juventus as his spell with Liverpool FC looks set to come to a close.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Pensante said: “We are saying the contract should be signed very soon.
“His versatility means he will perfectly fit at Juventus. He will be adapt to any system of play. Can can be very versatile and a good player for Allegri next season.”
Can was a late substitute during Liverpool FC’s loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month and it now looks as though that will be his final appearance for the Reds.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC wrapped up their first signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to Anfield from Monaco.
