Liverpool FC are “determined” to conclude a deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that although the Reds are not on the brink of concluding a deal, they are still looking to sign the 24-year-old France international this summer.

The same story says that contrary to reports in France, Liverpool FC are not close to announcing a deal for Fekir, but they are still looking to bring him to Anfield.

According to the same report, Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp has targeted Fekir as the perfect replacement for Philippe Coutinho at Anfield following the Brazilian’s move to FC Barcelona back in January.

Fekir is no stranger to speculation linking him with a move to England, with the attacker having been touted as a target for both Liverpool FC and Arsenal in recent windows.

According to the same article, Liverpool FC could face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid for the signature of Fekir this summer.

The same story also says that Lyon have given up trying to persuade Fekir to stay at the club this summer and are resigned to him leaving.

Liverpool FC have already completed their first signing of the summer after concluding a deal to land Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco last week.
