Insider rates Liverpool FC’s chances of signing quality 24-year-old this summer
Ian McGarry believes that Liverpool FC still do have a chance of signing Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer
Ian McGarry believes that Liverpool FC now have a 50 per cent chance of signing Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 24-year-old attacker to Anfield in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to add some more firepower to his squad following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona back in January.
Liverpool FC were thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Fekir last weekend, but the move appeared to fall through when Lyon announced that their captain would be staying at the club for next season.
Despite the transfer seemingly having hit a snag, football consultant McGarry feels that the Reds do still have a chance of signing Fekir before the end of the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, McGarry said: “This [the Fekir to Liverpool FC transfer talk] will run throughout the summer.
“The chances of this happening right now are 50/50.”
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Klopp looks to transform his team into genuine Premier League title contenders for next season.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and reached the Champions League final, but they are still searching for their first trophy under Klopp.
