Liverpool FC have moved into pole position to sign Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Reds are heading the queue to sign Oblak this summer after Atletico Madrid began making plans to sign a replacement.
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer after Loris Karius’ nightmare in the Champions League final last weekend.
The same report now says that Atletico Madrid are targeting Athletic Bilbao stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga should Oblak end up leaving the club this summer.
Liverpool FC have long been linked with reinforcements in goal after neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius managed to impress under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have also been linked with a move for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson in recent months.
Liverpool FC ended the season in disappointing fashion when whey were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final last weekend.
