The German goalkeeper was at fault for two of Real Madrid’s three goals as the Spanish side ended up winning the final 3-1 in Kiev on Saturday.
After the final whistle, Karius made his way over to the Liverpool FC fans to offer a tearful apology for his performance.
However, Liverpool FC legend Hamann was clearly not impressed by Karius’s behaviour after the final whistle in the Champions League final.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Hamann said: “My sympathy with Karius is limited.
“We don’t have to discuss that he decided the final with his two mistakes.
“Something like that can also happen to a professional footballer. But what I didn’t like was his behaviour afterwards.
“To publicly show his suffering after the final whistle was just as unnecessary as his tearful asking for forgiveness from the Reds fans.”
Liverpool FC could be set to try and bring in a new goalkeeper this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his options between the posts.
Neither Karius nor Simon Mignolet convinced in goal this season and that could prompt the Reds to try and bring in cover in that position.
Liverpool FC confirmed their first signing of the summer on Monday night when they announced that they had concluded a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder to Anfield from Monaco.
The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League as they secured their place in the Champions League for next season.
