Liverpool FC and Lazio are in “intense” transfer negotiations over the future of Marko Grujic, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that all parties want the 22-year-old’s proposed move to the Serie A club to be completed before Serbia’s World Cup opener against Costa Rica on Sunday.
The 22-year-old has struggled to make much of an impact at Liverpool FC and he was shipped out on loan to Cardiff for the second half of last season.
The story says that Lazio are keen to secure a deal for the midfielder and a move worth around €6m could be completed in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are still believed to be on the hunt for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Reds enjoyed a relatively successful campaign last season as they finished forth in the Premier League to seal Champions League qualification.
They also reached the Champions League final but were beaten by Real Madrid, leaving the Merseyside outfit still searching for their first major trophy since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in 2015.
