Fekir has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool FC this summer and the 24-year-old attacker was thought to be close to signing for the Reds earlier this month, only for the proposed transfer to fall through at the final hour.
Lyon then released a statement claiming that Fekir is set to stay on at the Ligue 1 club beyond the summer transfer window.
Fekir’s future continues to be a source of speculation, however, and the attacker is still being linked with a move to Anfield.
However, the Manchester Evening News is suggesting that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas’ latest comments about Fekir’s situation could mean that the attacker is on his way to Manchester United this summer.
The Lyon president is quoted as saying in the same article: “I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions.
“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool. At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.”
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to challenge for the title next season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United officially confirmed their second signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fred to the club.
